ecoEnergy Assessment Processing

Now that the ecoENERGY Retrofit Program has come to a close, we are busy processing hundreds of applications, so please be aware that you may experience some delay in receiving your final grant.

However, all applications will be processed and completed, so don’t worry!

We appreciate your business and are doing our very best to submit the applications as soon as possible.

Important Note

If you’re planning to replace or add insulation under the siding of your home, and want to get the grant for it, DO NOT remove the siding before we get there. If we get to a home for an energy assessment and siding has been removed, we are not allowed to conduct the assessment. The house is considered uninhabitable without siding.

The golden rule in this program: don’t start renovating anything until we get there!

Register for the Grant Program

Before we can book your energy assessment, you must register with the government here.  Once you have your registration number, give us a call and we’ll book your appointment! You must register online, there is no phone registration available.

Grants are back!

It’s official, as of today, the ecoENERGY Retrofit Program has returned. It’s pretty much the same as before, with up to $5,000 in non-taxable grants per homeowner available. The grants are listed here.

At this time, we do not have enough information to book appointments. We will take calls as of Friday afternoon and start booking as early as Monday, but we cannot book appointments yet.

However, if you are ready, the first step in the new program is to register with Natural Resources Canada. You can do this by filling out a form online here, or you can call 1-800-O-Canada to get your registration number. Make a note of this number and then give us a call Friday afternoon and we’ll get you booked in!

Thanks for your patience.

Still Waiting…

Yes, we’re still in limbo waiting to hear how to proceed with the newly renewed ecoENERGY Retrofit Program. Please be sure to call us or sign up for our news feed (on the home page) to get your name on the information list – the moment after we hear something, we will contact you!

If you received this message in an email, then you are already on our list, thanks. You do not have to call in.

Great News: Now Hurry Up and Wait!

The budget that Jim Flaherty tabled last night included “$400 million in 2011-2012 for the ecoENERGY Retrofit Program,” which is very good news for homeowners!

However, we still don’t know how to proceed and have been told by our government account managers that eligibility criteria and other program details will be announced in the coming weeks after Parliament passes the budget.  At this time we are not taking any new bookings for energy assessments until we know what the program will be.

However, if you have friends, family and/or clients who are planning to renovate, do ask them to call in and get on our waiting list. We will contact every single person the moment we know how to proceed. They can call 1-877-672-3242, or sign up for our Blog.

Thanks for your patience!

Summer Plans

While you may be planning your summer vacation budget, it looks like our national government will be getting down to its own budget on June 2nd. The Parliament will resume on that day and then take a summer vacation three weeks after that. One of the priorities during that time is to present the budget, so we should have some news on any government incentive programs by the second week of June. Stay tuned!

Election Hangover cont.

Still no update as we wait for the budget to be presented and passed. Word is that the Prime Minister will table the budget at the end of May because he wants to have it approved before parliament breaks for the summer.  Stay the course, and stay tuned!

In the meantime, we still need to apply pressure to the Prime Minister to renew the ecoENERGY Program, since he could change the budget as was presented in March and remove the program from it.

Please visit the Save EcoEnergy website to learn how you can lend your support to a long-term energy efficiency incentive program.

Election Hangover

On the day after the federal election, all we know is that the Conservatives promised a one-year renewal of the ecoENERGY program in their pre-campaigning. As of this moment, we don’t know much else.

Stay tuned for details. My only advice right now would be to hold off on renovations for at least a week to see what comes of this.

Check back daily for updates.

Stay Tuned

Check back here to find out what, if any, grant programs will be offered by the newly elected federal government. We’ll let you know as soon as we do, and as soon as the Elections Act allows us to use social media to mention the new federal government.  ;-)
